Austin Dog Rescue's mission is to end the cycle of homeless animals by saving dogs from Central Texas shelters that have no hope of a better life, encouraging the community to spay and neuter their pets, and providing education and resources to help pets live a long and healthy life. The foster home-based organization focuses on the dogs that fit in to most homes and save dogs that may have medical issues and which other rescues are unable to help.
Austin Dog Rescue is made up entirely of volunteers. Each dog is sheltered within a home in the Austin area. As such, there is no physical shelter to visit the dogs — if you think you may be interested in fostering a particular dog now or in the future, fill out an application form.
If you are interested in donating your time to Austin Dog Resource but are unable to offer fostering services, you can sign up here.
Mardi Paws, benefiting Austin Dog Rescue and Cutie PITooties, features a Mardi Gras dog parade and party, DJ and brass band performance, festive drinks and eats, King Cake (for humans and dogs), photo opportunities, raffle prizes, and more.
