Austin Smiles improves lives by bringing medical, surgical, and therapeutic care to underserved children with cleft lip palate and craniofacial anomalies in Latin America. The organization also collaborates with the Craniofacial and Reconstructive Plastic Surgery Center at Dell Children's Medical Center of Central Texas, providing financial and program support for patients undergoing surgeries and treatment.

Austin Smiles needs a range of medical volunteers for its missions to Latin America, including physicians, dentists, certified surgical technologists, and speech pathologists. All medical volunteers must be licensed or certified in their designated field, and can apply here.

Nonmedical volunteers are needed to help with translation, patient intake, family support and counseling, IT support and database maintenance, and other nonmedical tasks, and can apply here. All mission volunteers are required to raise or donate a $750 sponsorship fee for each trip.

Austin Smiles also hosts events for child patients of the Central Texas Cleft Team and are always in need of volunteers who enjoy working with children. For more information on local volunteering, click here.

Austin Smiles' annual Shoot for a Smile features a sporting clays tournament and raffle at Capitol City Trap & Skeets Club, with all proceeds benefiting the Austin Smiles Plastic Surgery Foundation. The event includes four-man shooting teams on a 50-target course, a barbecue luncheon, a silent auction, and shooting games.
