Create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.

Become a Big Brother or Big Sister. When you volunteer to become a Big Brother or Sister, you’ll not only make a positive impact on the life of a child, you’ll enrich your own life and have fun as well. When you spend time with your Little, you share your own interests and discover new ones. You see life through the eyes of a child again. You laugh and play with a new friend, all while children grow and thrive in ways that change their lives. Children in our program often show improvement in academic performance, engage less in risky behaviors and avoid early parenting.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas matches children ages 6-16 with caring adults who serve as mentors, advocates, resources and guides. Volunteer "Bigs" commit to meeting with their "Littles" 3 to 4 times per month for a minimum of one year. Our professional staff are there every step of the way to help support each match's success. Our proven model of one-to-one mentoring helps kids build the skills and capacities that lead to lifelong success.

At Big Brothers Big Sisters, we always have a special need for Bigs, particularly those who are male, bilingual and/or of color.

To be a Big, you must be 18 years of age or older with a valid driver's license, auto insurance, access to reliable transportation and be willing to commit to a minimum one year volunteer experience.

Bowl for Kids is a two-day, themed, bowling event that celebrates individuals and teams who have participated in a fundraising campaign to provide BBBS of Central Texas with the support needed to bring professionally-supported mentoring relationships to more children who need them.

Over 1,000 individuals and companies raise money for BBBS. Teams who raise $750 or more are eligible to sign up for a two-hour time slot to bowl at Bowl for Kids and celebrate with food, drinks, costumes, team photos and killer door prizes.
