CASA of Travis County promotes and protects the best interest of children who have been abused or neglected. It trains volunteers to advocate for them in courts, in schools, and in the community to help them find safe, permanent, and loving homes. For every child who needs them, CASA of Travis County envisions a trained volunteer advocate, a safe home, and a promising future.
A CASA volunteer is a court appointed, trained, and committed adult who ensures that each child's individual needs remain a priority in an overburdened child welfare system. They get to know the child while also gathering information from the child's family, teachers, doctors, therapists, caregivers, and anyone else involved in the child's life, then make independent and informed recommendations to help the judge decide what's best for the child. Volunteer info sessions are a great opportunity to meet the CASA team and learn more about what it means to become a CASA volunteer.
CASA of Travis County's annual CASAblanca Gala features interactive art, live music, an auction, and casino after-party.
