U.R. Our Hope is a nonprofit organization that assists individuals and their families on their journey to diagnosis, or helps them navigate the healthcare system with a rare diagnosis. Its mission is to serve individuals with undiagnosed and rare disorders through education, advocacy, and support in order to bring hope through knowledge, empowerment, and healing. It assists families in the Austin area, throughout Texas, the United States, and beyond.
There are two large fundraising events open to the public to help raise funds for the families, plus smaller events throughout the year, such as restaurant give-back nights, where people are welcome to come and support. Direct donations are always accepted, and some family events do require the help of volunteers.
Rare Disease Day Event is held annually in February to raise awareness for rare diseases. It is usually held at a local restaurant with raffles and silent auction. Evening of Hope Gala and Casino Night is the nonprofit's biggest event each year, held in the fall, and features dinner, dancing, a silent auction, and casino event.
