The Downtown Austin Alliance Foundation will host the fourth annual Austin’s Birthday Bash. The family-friendly event is a community celebration featuring the live music, creative arts, food and people that capture the true spirit and authenticity of Austin.
Since 2018, the Downtown Austin Alliance Foundation has celebrated Austin’s Birthday Bash in August, commemorating the anniversary of when the first lots of land were auctioned under the Auction Oaks in what is today Republic Square. This year’s event will be in-person and enhanced health and safety protocols will be in place to allow for social distancing so that everyone can safely enjoy the annual outdoor celebration.
The event will feature complimentary kid creative kits, including coloring pages by artist Lakeem Wilson. Food and drink specials will be provided by Salt & Time Café, a farm-to-table casual all-day café.
This year’s Birthday Bash will also feature a variety of entertainment curated and headlined by Grammy-award nominated singer, SaulPaul and Friends. This event will kick off SaulPaul’s #BeTheChange summer tour, which will also feature the Austin debut of the Passion Flower, a functional art piece created by Edward Balassanian for the 2019 Burning Man music festival. In addition, Niz will be live painting a mural during the event.
