Doc Nights features new documentaries.
- November 1 and 5: In Transit - The final film from documentary legend Albert Maysles takes a lyrical ride across the country with the passengers of the Amtrak’s Empire Builder, its busiest cross-country train route.
- November 12 and 14: The Worker's Cup - In 2022, the nation of Qatar will host the World Cup. In preparation for the event, 1.6 million migrant workers from impoverished countries are imported to make the necessary structural improvements. The Worker's Cup is the exciting and fascinating documentary about these workers and the small-scale, workers-only soccer tournament they participate in.
- November 22, 26, and 27: The Challenge - Italian artist Yuri Ancarani has made one of the most visually beautiful films of the year. In an unnarrated and unadorned yet sumptuous documentary style, he shows us the unimaginably expensive leisure pursuits of a group of Qatari oil billionaires, who obsess over their imported falcons, cheetahs, and Lamborghinis.
- December 16 and 20: Machines - One of the most visually stunning films of the year is this documentary about Indian textile sweatshops. As the machinery turns out acres of vibrant cloth, we meet the people (many of them children) who toil in the factories for long hours and little money.
