Angel is linked to the sectarian violence of “The Troubles” in Northern Ireland, and it is certainly never established which side of the struggle the murderers are on. This is a film addressing the Loyalist and Republican conflicts, and Jordan seems to suggest that political fidelities are irrelevant when innocents are murdered in their name.
