A beautiful young New Orleans socialite (Elizabeth Taylor) saw something dreadful happen to her cousin the previous summer in Italy, but the memory is blocked. To keep it that way, her wealthy aunt plots to have Catherine lobotomized in order to preserve her delusions and lies about her gay son Sebastian.
