Armadillo Den will honor Juneteenth by hosting the Diaspora Food Festival, a celebration of culture in South Austin. Diaspora refers to all global communities that descended from the historic migrations of people from Africa since the 15th century. Diversity is a cornerstone of the African Diaspora, encompassing a tapestry of cultures, languages, and experiences.
The festival celebrates the unique flavors of that region of the world with Afro-Latin and African American-inspired dishes, as well as Afro-Colombian, Jamaican, and Haitian recipes. Diaspora hopes to connect the rich and vibrant community through the universal language of food, conversation, and friendship.
Vendors will be on site with a variety of food and beverage options for purchase. Alcohol can also be purchased at Armadillo Den’s bar.
