Austin is joining New York, San Francisco, Minneapolis and other world-class cities which already have spaces dedicated to the arts and crafts of making books with the launch of the Austin Book Arts Center. Beginning in fall 2015, ABAC will offer approximately 20 workshops in the book arts including letterpress printing, bookbinding, papermaking, calligraphy, and book history and design. There will also be regularly scheduled open studio times during which qualified users can access ABAC equipment.

To celebrate their inaugural season, the ABAC Board of Directors invites the public to an Open House. Activities include bookbinding and letterpress demonstrations. Attendees may print their own bookmark or make their own book.
