The Austin Empty Bowl Project (AEBP) celebrates its 17th year of fighting hunger in Central Texas on Sunday, November 24 at the Marchesa Hall and Theatre.
For a $20 donation, members of the community are invited to select a locally crafted bowl and enjoy gourmet soups and fresh baked bread while listening to talent from Austin musicians. All proceeds of the event benefit Kids Café, a partner of the Capital Area Food Bank, and Meals for Kids, part of Meals on Wheels and More. After the event, bowls may be taken home as year-round reminders of hunger in Central Texas.
Restaurants participating in the event include Mandola’s Italian Market, Hoover’s Cooking, Magnolia Cafe, Guero’s Taco Bar, The Soup Peddler, Foreign & Domestic, Whole Foods Market and many more. Musical guests include singer and instrumentalist Brennen Leigh, songwriter and guitarist Michael O’Connor and songstress Elizabeth Willis, among others.
