Austin History Center presents Central Texas Dance Halls

The Austin History Center and author Stephen Dean will present a discussion of his new book, Historic Dance Halls of East Central Texas. Dean will talk about the historic dance halls of Central Texas and their importance to our storied past and future. He will also bring archival and new photos of the halls, musicians, food, and culture surrounding this vast subject.

There will also be a live performance by Czech Melody Masters that will demonstrate the changing styles of music from the early days of Texas settlement. A book signing will follow the presentation and light refreshments will be served.
