The Austin ISD Visual and Performing Arts Department will present the 2021 Austin ISD Summer Theatre Series. This year, the series is showing the beloved musical Mamma Mia!, the award-winning play Still Life with Iris, and family-favorite Charlotte’s Web. The productions will feature 137 company members from 36 AISD campuses.

Schedule of events

  • July 15-18: Still Life With Iris, by Steven Dietz, is a fantastical adventure which centers on a little girl's search for the simplest of things, home. Iris lives with her mom in the magical land of Nocturno, a place where all the things seen in the world are made by night. This delicate land is upended with the appearance of the mysterious Mr. Matternot and the theft of Iris’s memories.
  • July 15-18: Charlotte’s Web, adapted by Joseph Robinette, based on the book by E. B. White. A classic story of friendship and the challenges we will take on to protect the ones we love; told from the animal's point of view, providing laughs as well as thoughtful moments.
  • July 22-25: Mamma Mia! brings you a mother, a daughter and three possible dads. The story-telling magic of ABBA's timeless songs propels this enchanting tale of love, laughter and friendship as a young woman searches for her birth father.
