Austin Shakespeare will present a theatrical staged reading of Agatha Christie’s The Hollow, including solo jazz violin accompaniment.

The best-selling author of all time, Christie was also an acclaimed playwright. The Hollow was originally written as a novel starring her legendary detective Hercule Poirot, but when she crafted the play, she created a new detective and devised a new murderer.

Set during a weekend at the classic English country house named The Hollow, the action begins during pre-dinner cocktails, when the good-looking Dr. John Cristow finds himself surrounded by an old flame, his wife and his current mistress. Everyone has opportunities and motives, as the charming Inspector Colquhoun and his down-to-earth assistant Sergeant Penny must try to follow Christie’s well-crafted twists and turns to unmask the killer.
