Austin Shakespeare will present a staged reading of My Children! My Africa!, written by one of the 20th and 21st century’s great playwrights, Athol Fugard.

Fugard’s acclaimed play tells the tale of the efforts of a spectacular Black teacher in a segregated township trying to persuade a young man that education, not violence, is the answer to South Africa’s problems. His teenage students are being coached by the teacher to join together in a literary competition.
