The Austin Symphony Orchestra will open their 2021-2022 season with ¡Espíritu Latino!, which will celebrate the “latin spirit” in classical music with guest artist, violinist Francisco Fullanna, who will be performing Symphonie espagnole by Édouard Lalo. Ravel’s famous masterpiece Boléro, originally composed as a ballet commissioned by Russian ballerina Ida Rubinstein, closes out the season opener.
Other selections will include Blas Galindso's Sones de mariachi, Astor Piazzolla/Eduardo Marturet's Oblivion. Piazzolla/Djuro Zivkovic's Libertango, and Carlos Chavez's Sinfonia india (Symphony No. 2)
