BookWoman will present the launch of Elizabeth Kropf's debut poetry chapbook, what mothers withhold.

what mothers withhold reveals what mothers sometimes withhold from their children. The poems hold stories of infertility, pregnancy, and birth. They hold what mothers carry in body and mind: grief, protectiveness, and the fiercest love. A thread of longing begins with mothers in the Bible, imagining with Madeline L’Engle, and arrives at what mothers hold closest: hope.

The poems in what mothers withhold were written over a span of over 10 years, bookending the birth and babyhood of her daughters.

Copies of Kropf's books will be available for purchase. Cindy Huyser will emcee the event.
