The Cactus Cafe is bringing guitarist Bill Frisell and the Big Sur Quintet to the Texas Union Ballroom to examine the music of Woody Guthrie, one of modern folk music's founding fathers. Best known for the classic "This Land Is Your Land," Guthrie was at the helm of the folk music revival in the mid-20th century and a major influence on Bob Dylan, Pete Seeger and countless others.

Frisell has established himself as one of the great storytellers of jazz guitar. His quintet includes violinist Jenny Scheinman, violist Eyvind Kang, cellist Hank Roberts and drummer Rudy Royston.
