Words of Hope is Caritas of Austin’s largest annual fundraising event, featuring an author or prominent figure whose story reflects Caritas’ mission and work. This year’s featured speaker is Ron Hall, author of the New York Times best-selling book, Same Kind of Different As Me. The story chronicles the powerful friendship he formed with Denver Moore, a homeless drifter who grew up in virtual slavery.
Words of Hope will also feature the prestigious Harvey Penick Award for Excellence in the Game of Life, to be presented to Tomi and Pete Winstead for their leadership and philanthropy in Central Texas.
