The Roots & Wings Festival is Austin’s community-wide celebration of Arbor Day and Monarch Appreciation Day. Visitors can explore the outdoors, enjoy art-making, and celebrate in best nature-themed costume. 

Guests will also have a chance to get up close with monarchs at the butterfly tag and release tent, reach new heights with City of Austin arborists at the assisted tree climb, explore and play in nature with crafting and hands-on demonstrations, and enjoy face painting, food trucks, giveaways, and more.
