These past couple years people have been scarce in our lives - and in our paintings and sculpture. People needed to be contemplative and restful. But also, excited. We wanted to make art about caring, rather than political art.

Our peopleness is inescapable though. And this work reflects us, including our politics. But this is mostly art about caring. And it’s about life and death. It’s about study and observation. It’s about process, materiality, and transmutation. It’s about our times and our world and the promethean moment we are experiencing which is insisting that we make new choices about how we engage with each other and the planet.

Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on display until September 3.
