Dimension Gallery will present GD Wright: "Impossible Until It’s Done," Wright's first solo show of site-specific installation in Austin. Wright aims to create a place of intrigue, comprised of the surrounding fragments of an unknown force that has crash landed in the gallery. Composed of metal structures, concrete castings, and blown glass with mirrored surfaces, Wright's work evokes a visceral response in the viewer. Wright examines several key aspects of tension within systems of nature and society: push and pull, containment and expansion, strength and fragility, change and inertia. The objects, with their delicate provenance, define a dichotomous personal narrative for the artist.
Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on display through August 18.
