An Austin new-music favorite, Grammy Award-winning sextet eighth blackbird returns to TPA for another on-campus residency funded by the Mellon Foundation’s classical music initiative. Concerts bookend the residency period with the first dedicated to Songs of Love and Loss. The centerpiece of the program features Murder Ballades, a work by composer Bryce Dessner, best known for his work as the guitarist for the indie rock band The National.
