By projecting images of clothes from their own closets onto their forms, artist Michael Anthony García creates in-camera photo collage portraits of local women of color to relay their stories. Through conversation, the artist connects with the women, discussing and selecting items from their wardrobe which are photographed and instantly projected onto their forms. Those images are ultimately used in temporary installations on the subjects' beds with other items from their closets, which are then documented in the final images.
