Themed "Hava naGLEEla," Fall Fusion 2011 will feature live music, dancing, spirits, food stations with cuisine from area restaurants and caterers, and an eclectic silent auction.
Local leaders Morris Gottesman and Bobby Krumholz will be honored with the LBJ Humanitarian Award in recognition of the impact they have made on the Austin community.
All proceeds from the event, which is being co-chaired by community volunteers Jill May and Emmy Sunshine, benefit the programs, special events and services of JCC Austin.
A VIP reception will begin at 6 PM, followed by the main event from 7-9:30 PM with the awards presentation and community celebration. During the VIP reception, entertainment will be provided by The Ransom Notes, the premier co-ed a cappella group at the University of Texas at Austin, performing contemporary songs and classic oldies arranged for voices by its own members.
The main event will feature Boom Sumting! Sound System, playing a variety of classic and contemporary songs to dance and sing along. Boom Sumting! Sound System is an Austin-based entertainment company, founded by active JCC members Eddie Russ (DJ Jah Karma) and Marc Rosenberg (DJ Midi Marc), that specializes in helping people celebrate through music.
