"Opalescence" is a solo exhibition, debuting new works from Dallas artist Nita Patel’s 2020 "Opal Series." This series examines the shimmer, sparkle, and fire of the opal and the depth and color variations that naturally occur within the stone. Her new works concentrate on exposing multiple layers of paint and color, thus enhancing 3-dimensional textures, which reflect and intensify the natural play-of-color process. The results are as stunning as the stone and produce a final pseudochromatic optical effect of flashes of light reflected compositions.
The opening reception will feature wine and hors d’oeuvres provided by Sun Flower Catering with live music performed by Daniela Castro.
Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on view through April 5.
