Forklift Danceworks and Fusebox Festival are pleased to announce the premiere of The Trees of Govalle, a one-of-a-kind performance featuring the Urban Forestry crews from Austin's Parks and Recreation Department. This newest dance is as much about the trees and the symbolic meaning they hold in our communities as it is about the city workers that show up at 6 am every weekday to water, mulch, plant, prune and care for the them.
Working closely with the Urban Forestry employees, Forklift Danceworks will utilize the movement and finesse of the arborists and their machinery to create a dance highlighting the skill, commitment and elegance that is needed to keep our city's green space healthy. The Trees of Govalle will be accompanied by original music composed and directed by Graham Reynolds with production and lighting design by Stephen Pruitt.
