Former First Ladies Barabara Bush and Laura Bush will be joined by First Family members, former staff members, historians, and White House insiders at The Enduring Legacies of America's First Ladies, a conference at the LBJ Presidential Library.
Throughout our nation's history, First Ladies of the United States have played an influential role in American politics, domestic policy and global diplomacy. These powerful women have served alongside our Presidents as policy advisors, diplomats, hostesses, and national role models. They have helped shape societal attitudes and have used their platform to advocate for important initiatives and policies affecting our country and people around the world.
The Enduring Legacies of America's First Ladies is the final in a series of three conferences that have been offered over the last year by the three Texas presidential libraries. For the first time in the series of conferences, children of Presidents and First Ladies will share their views about life in the White House.
All afternoon sessions are free and open to the public; however, the evening session is only open to member of the Friends of LBJ library.
