Gallery Lucid will present the haunting, sweet, and brazen work of three local artists whose work begs a double-take. The subjects of Juan Carlos Amorrortu, Kalee M Espitia Art and Juan Villegas watch visitors just as profoundly as they watch them. This exhibition is intentionally placed during the month in which the veil is thinnest.
Artists will be in attendance for the opening event. If the gazes from the canvas were not enough to entrance, the stories behind many of them are moving, funny, or even heartbreaking. The event will feature a live music performance by Adam Koch playing upright double bass. Beer will be provided by local brewery and restaurant Black Star Coop, and iced coffee and treats by local cafe Fat Cats Organic Coffee & Desserts.
Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on display through November 10.
