Georgetown Palace Theatre presents Hits of Broadway: A Celebration of Color in Musical Theatre, a night celebrating African-American musicals and characters of Broadway. Palace performers will be paying tribute to both classic and contemporary productions with musical hits from Dreamgirls, Hairspray, Porgy and Bess, and Hamilton , among others.
The event is co-sponsored by Shades of Talent, a grassroots movement started by four women with a passion for the performing arts. Their mission is to encourage and promote the awareness, participation, and casting of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color in local theatre.
This production will be outdoors in the Palace Courtyard behind the theatre. Groups will be distanced apart. There will be snacks and drinks for sale, but guests can bring their own. Masks will be required on entry and exit; guests are strongly encouraged to wear masks unless actively eating or drinking.
