The Harry Ransom Center hosts the “Classical Mexican Cinema Series,” held in conjunction with its exhibition “Mexico Modern: Art, Commerce and Cultural Exchange, 1920-1945.” In Distinto Amanecer, an exemplar of the cabaretera genre, Andrea Palma stars as Julieta, the disaffected wife of a civil servant (Alberto Galán), who helps a former friend (Pedro Armendáriz) as he tries to elude would-be assassins.
