For decades Carl Smith has been a Jazz musician involved closely with local arts community. This will be his first solo show in Austin of the latest showcase of his abstract paintings. Inspired by several different artist and "counterpoints" (a musical term for playing two melodies at the same time) Smith creates compositions that seek to embody structure, heat and the need to paint.
