The Indie Meme Archival Project's exhibit, The Road to IMFF, celebrates Indie Meme's journey from its grassroots beginnings to the vibrant success of the Indie Meme Film Festival today. This is a story of South Asian cinephiles merging with local communities with one mission: to bring independent South Asian cinema to Texas.
It traces all the way back to the first single screening and earliest sponsors, through the first Indie Meme Film Festival in 2016, and the continued growth of the annual festivals and events. There will be a discussion panel, oral history interviews, and never-before-seen footage from past events. Light refreshments will be provided.
