Kathy Dunn Hamrick brings her award-winning modern dance company to KC Grey Home, a large warehouse space transformed by Lighting Designer/Technical Director Stephen Pruitt into the ideal venue for the premiere of Parade. This hour-long dance performance also features live music composed and performed by Drew Silverman and costumes by Laura Noose.
In Parade, Hamrick blends images of the innocent and joyful homecoming parades of her youth with those of ominous, show-of-force military parades, subtly demonstrating the fine line between peace and conflict. Choreographer Kathy Dunn Hamrick has layered the dancers in a long, narrow space with seating at one end. The depth of field allows you to absorb a great deal of action at one time while also feeling the dancers moving straight toward you.
