KMFA 89.5, Austin’s listener-supported classical music station, will present Live from the Draylen Mason, a virtual grand opening celebration.
Having just moved into the new purpose-built space in The Hatchery after 42 years on N. Lamar, KMFA invites the public to enjoy a variety of uplifting programs and to virtually experience an “inside” look at the new state of-the-art facilities. Weekend highlights will include the dedication of the new Draylen Mason Music Studio, which will host live broadcasts, concerts, and special events throughout the year, including conversations and performances that inspire and restore the human spirit.

- January 29: A welcome and short performance by Austin Soundwaves, unveiling of a commissioned portrait of Draylen Mason by Nikkolas Smith, livestreamed concert by violinist Vadim Gluzman and pianist Angela Yoffe
- January 30: Nikkolas Smith on “Artivism,” Van Cliburn Gold Medal pianist Olga Kern, and a performance by world-renowned violinist Anne Akiko Meyers and Grammy Award-winning guitarist Jason Vieaux
- January 31: Grammy-nominated Miró Quartet & Friends
In addition to the ticketed events, free on-demand programs will be made available, including various exclusive presentations and encore performances from the Austin arts community.
