Billy Joe Shaver's legendary status was cemented in 1973 when Waylon Jennings released Honky Tonk Heroes, the seminal outlaw country album comprised almost entirely of Shaver songs. Johnny Cash called him "my favorite songwriter," and Bob Dylan often plays his song "Old Five And Dimers Like Me" in concert. At this special 75th birthday celebration, Shaver will be joined by numerous special guests who he influenced over the course of his decades-spanning career.
The initial round of special guests include Ray Wylie Hubbard, James McMurtry, Jason Boland, Joe Pug, Jason Eady and Crooks, with plenty more to come.
