This backyard barbecue collaboration offers a preview of what’s to come as LeRoy and Lewis and Casper Fermentables pop up weekly at the SFC Farmer’s Market downtown beginning September 1. The casual evening expects to be a Texas backyard version of a traditional Korean BBQ with cold drinks and people gathering around the fire.
The ticket includes a variety of passed appetizers followed by a selection of locally sourced proteins including: Peaceful Pork Ssam Gyupsal Pork Belly, Peeler Ranch Galbi Beef Ribs, and Mo Dobu (Marinated, Smoked and Glazed Tofu) – that guests can then either cook themselves over a live fire or have one of the pitmasters handle. In the tradition of making everything from scratch, the team has built custom charcoal grills specifically for the event.
Included in the ticket price are traditional Korean BBQ accouterments like rice, lettuce wraps, and banchan (side dishes) and kimchi made in-house by Casper Fermentables’ founder Ben Hollander. Cool down with melon sorbet for dessert. Drinks including craft beer, soju, and wine will be available for sale.
