Link & Pin welcomes the PrintAustin Invitational: "Ääripää," which showcases works by members of the Turku Printmakers Association, a regional artist organization in Southern Finland. Founded in 1933, their collective operates a member-based community printmaking studio in Raunistula, Turku, as well as Gallery Joella, located along the iconic Aura River.
Sixteen artists have been selected to provide a comprehensive sampling of their vibrant creative community. While many of these artists demonstrate expertise in traditional print processes, others utilize innovative approaches through materials and techniques. This exhibition is part of a wider exchange between print communities in Finland and the US; an exhibition of American artists will be featured in Gallery Joella later this year.
Featured Artists include Miina Laine, Sanna Horvath, Sirkku Ketola, Laura Tahvanainen, Taru Salonen. Annette Hammaren. Lotta Leka. Katja Syrjä, Katri Ikävalko, Teija Lehto, Annika Dahlsten, Tiina Vainio, Erkki Nampajärvi, Jone Mutka, Minna Maija Lappalainen, and Petra Kallio.
Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on display until March 5.
