Nationally recognized magician and comedian Brian Brushwood is among the stars appearing for the Magic at the Capitol show, the annual non-profit magic extravaganza at the Scottish Rite Theater. Brushwood will be joined at the 7:30 pm show by veteran illusionist CJ Johnson, a 25-year magic veteran who is famous for his mentalism and hypnotism acts. The evening show will be hosted by Austin favorite, Peter the Adequate.
At 3:30 pm, Magic at the Capitol hosts a separate matinee lineup of great children’s acts, including J.D. Stewart and Julian Franklin. Also on this early matinee bill is Trixie Bond, who has assisted with magical effects for Hollywood films and who has performed on the White House lawn.
Some of Austin’s most skilled close-up magic performers will entertain in the lobby during the intermissions of both performances.
