Artist Yvette Mayorga will join the workshop Reclaiming Shoes Through Frosting. In this guided workshop, participants will pipe found shoes with plaster “frosting” using traditional baking tools. The shoes are in remembrance to those who traverse borders, both real and imagined. The found piped shoes will live in the gallery space during the duration of the exhibition as a representation of labor and shared space. The public will be invited to add to this ongoing collection during gallery hours as well.
