Metropolitan Breakfast Club presents Maestro Peter Bay and The Music of Leonard Bernstein

From West Side Story to Candide, Austin Symphony Orchestra Music Director Peter Bay will lead the journey into the musical world of legendary composer and conductor Leonard Bernstein. 2018 marks the 100th birthday of Bernstein and all over the world there are celebrations honoring his legacy. Bay will share the vision behind Bernstein100Austin and Austin’s production of Bernstein’s most epic work, "MASS: A Theatre Piece for Singers, Players, and Dancers."

With musical genres spanning rock, jazz, Broadway, folk, gospel and classical, Austin will host the largest fully staged performance of MASS with more than 300 performers from and collaborations with Austin Opera, Austin Symphony Orchestra, members of Ballet Austin, Chorus Austin, Grammy Award-winning Conspirare, KMFA 89.5 FM, Austin Community College, Texas State University, The University of Texas Marching Band, The Austin Children’s Choir and The African Children's Choir.
