Modern Rocks Gallery presents 2nd Birthday Bash, a party that will feature additional images from the Scott Newton Archive, some rare David Bowie shots by former band member Geoff MacCormack, and with the 25th anniversary of Nirvana's Nevermind this year, Modern Rocks’ exclusive collection of outtakes from that famous cover by Kirk Weddle will get its own permanent wall. This year also marks the 30th Anniversary of The Smiths "The Queen Is Dead,” allowing the gallery to feature some new pieces from Stephen Wright.
Modern Rocks Gallery’s 2nd Birthday Bash will feature cocktails from Austin’s award-winning distillery, Revolution Spirits. The gallery’s Canopy neighbors, Big Medium and the newly opened Bale Creek Allen Gallery, will be hosting opening shows and live music the same night as well.
