Following its Austin Critics’ Table award-winning production, Ignite, Performa/Dance will present its second show, 4X3: Four Works by Three Choreographers.
Artistic Director Jennifer Hart premieres two pieces - Camille Claudel: A Story of Art and Love, based on the dramatic life of the early 20th-century artist; and Spaces, an abstract, highly physical work that investigates the actions of call and response in friendships and the architecture of togetherness.
Performa/Dance invites two guest artists - award-winning solo artist Nic Lincoln from Minneapolis, Minnesota, who will reprise his celebrated work, Glitter Garden, which, taking its cues from contemporary art and culture, is a movement essay about nurturing one’s authentic being and having the strength to cultivate one’s own uniqueness, and the highly-acclaimed Austin-based multimedia performance company Arcos, who will present “Hoaxers,” which explores the disembodied sense of connection and distorted representation of reality in online interactions.
