Perry-Castaneda Library presents Celebration and Launch of the Sharir and Sharir/Bustamante Dance Collection

The University of Texas Libraries and the Department of Theatre and Dance will celebrate the legacy of vanguard choreographer Dr. Yacov Sharir and the launch of the Sharir and Sharir/Bustamante Dance Collection archive in the Fine Arts Library. The event will include a panel on the topic of preserving and archiving four decades of Sharir’s choreographic innovations and a panel reflecting on a career built on solid modern dance technique and on pioneering the use of technologies like virtual reality, intelligent fabrics and interactive systems in performance.
