"The Lizzie Project" is a COVID-inspired series of mouth-painted works by Sara Jane Parsons. It is dedicated to dancers around the world who suddenly found themselves grounded and unable to dance. Parsons’ niece, Elizabeth Kanning, professional ballerina, had her 2019/2020 dance season cut short. Parsons was no longer able to attend life drawing groups and had shows and events cancelled. With Lizzie as muse, together they collaborated virtually to create 27 figurative works in watercolor, sumi ink, and oil.
Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on display until April 11.
