BBQ Austin is a two-day event featuring a BBQ cook-off competition, live music and carnival fun. Like any other competition, BBQ Austin teams are competing for the cook-off championship title. Teams can enter multiple categories to be judged, and the top team is named BBQ Austin Grand Champion. While the competition is going on, teams are also encouraging donations and are fundraising to support Rodeo Austin's mission Promoting Youth Education - Preserving Western Heritage.
Once guests make their way through the cook-off, they can stop by the Pork Producers tent for a free sample, see the sponsors at the Miller Lite tent, and stop by the Info Booth for a map. They can also check out the carnival, pony rides, see a longhorn, and grab a cold beverage. Admission includes entry to the cook-off area with limited tasting samples and entry to the carnival and fairgrounds.
