The Salt Lick, in partnership with Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, will present the return of the famous BBQ restaurant’s open-to-the-public movie series, set to take place at the Salt Lick’s Pecan Grove, a scenic outdoor space adjacent to the original Driftwood restaurant.
On alternate Sundays beginning August 28, residents across Hays and Travis Counties are welcome to come dig their spurs into three modern gun-smoked classics, starting with Tombstone, starring Kurt Russell and Val Kilmer as the legendary gunslingers Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday. Quentin Tarantino’s vengeance epic Django Unchained screens September 11, followed by director Joss Whedon’s Western-flavored sci-fi adventure Serenity on September 25. Additional screenings are planned through the fall, with details to be announced in the coming months.
