The Society for Animal Rescue and Adoption (SARA), a non-profit animal sanctuary in Central Texas, will host its first event of 2024 to celebrate “Veganuary,” the annual movement to encourage consumers to adopt and follow a vegan diet.
SARA Sanctuary’s Veganuary event will offer a home-made boxed vegan lunch for $25, as well as the opportunity to tour the property and interact with a number of SARA’s animals such as Lily, the three-legged cow, and Pearl, a rescued potbelly pig. Attendees are also welcome to volunteer that day or set up future volunteer opportunities.
Similar to the vegan philosophy, SARA Sanctuary was founded in the belief that exploitation and cruelty to animals for food, clothing, or other purposes is inhumane. SARA welcomes individuals of like mind about the protection of animal life, plus anyone curious about the veganism philosophy.
