Sonic Transmissions II, a multi-day showcase curated by internationally renowned bassist Ingebrigt Håker Flaten, features musicians from diverse social and ethnic backgrounds playing an extensive spectrum of genres. It aims to bring together musicians and audiences from different communities where expectations break down and new, powerful experiences get created.
Amongst the more than 30 local, national, and international artists featured will be Friday headliner Rabit (Houston) and Saturday headliner Obnox (Cleveland). Sunday night will feature musicians from Texas, California, and Norway in a commissioned work called Common Ground, which will sync African-American spirituals with Norwegian religious hymns.
Festival will take place at the North Door on September 23 and 24, and at Central Presbyterian Church on September 25.
